Equipment data model for a hospital extension
Structuring medical equipment requirements and information for planning, coordination and later operation.
Challenge
Equipment lists existed in different formats and levels of detail. Technical requirements for building services were not consistently documented, and it was unclear which information would be needed later for operation.
Solution
A common equipment data structure was defined, requirements were consolidated per room and device group, and equipment was represented in the BIM model with agreed parameters.
Results
One consistent source for equipment information across planning disciplines, with a defined set of data prepared for handover to facility management.
